17.4 Magic Sign In: A Simpler, Smarter Way to Access Issuetrak

Written by Liz Cook | Jun 24, 2025 7:00:00 PM

Issuetrak 17.4 is Here!

We’re excited to announce a brand-new way to log in to Issuetrak that’s all about convenience, security, and flexibility. Say hello to Magic Sign In Phase 1!

What is Magic Sign In?

Magic Sign In lets you log in to Issuetrak without a password. Just enter your user ID and we’ll send a secure, one-time link to the email address associated to your account. Click the link, and you’re in—no password required!

It’s fast, secure, and perfect for users who want a frictionless login experience.

How It Works

  1. Enter your user ID on the login screen.
  2. Check your inbox for a magic link.
  3. Click the link to access your Issuetrak site instantly.

That’s it! No password to remember, no reset hassles.

Prerequisites

Magic Sign In requires Issuetrak Authentication as well as Outgoing Email. Additionally, users will need to have an email address in their user record in order to receive the Magic Link.

Your Login, Your Choice

Prefer the traditional login method? No problem! Magic Sign In is opt-in, so you can continue using your existing Issuetrak credentials if that’s your style. And even if you turn on Magic Sign In, the new sign in box will still allow you to switch to password entry mode in case you don't have access to your email. No matter what, you’re in control.

Coming Soon
: Magic Sign In Phase 2

Issuetrak 17.4 is shipping with Magic Sign In Phase 1, which means users will need to request a Magic Link every time their current session expires. In Phase 2, we’re adding the ability for admins to extend the acces period for up to 30-days! That means users will only need to click their Magic Link once to get 30 days of instant access. After that first click, they'll be able to go right into Issuetrak as they always have, either from a direct link or their already existing browser bookmark, without having to sign in.

Certificate-Based Authentication for Microsoft Applications

We’ve added a new way to authenticate Microsoft integrations in Issuetrak!

Previously, setting up a Microsoft Application (for use with Identity Management or Incoming Email) required a Client Secret from Azure. Now admins will be able to select a certificate during the setup. Adding this additional authentication option provides:

  • Greater flexibility
  • Improved security
  • Simplified integration management

Bug Fixes & Security Enhancements

As always, our team has been hard at work behind the scenes, squashing bugs and strengthening application security to ensure a smoother, safer experience for all users.

Ready to try out 17.4?  We can’t wait for you to experience the magic! Download 17.4 or contact Support to see 17.4 sooner than July 1st.

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for being part of the Issuetrak community!
