What is needed at the
end-user desktop to run IssueTrak?
The ability to browse the Web. Any computer that has a connection to
the Internet and a modern Web browser can access our products. The
browser must be compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or
later.
Does any software need
to be installed on the users' computers?
Other than a Web browser, no.
What kind of server is
needed to run IssueTrak?
Microsoft's IIS and SQL Server (7.0 or above) is required. The database
can be on the same machine as the Web server, or SQL Server and IIS can
be on separate machines. The size and speed of the server depends on
the number of issues submitted per day and how many users will be
accessing the system.
Will IssueTrak work
through a firewall?
Yes.
How about remote users
who use a dial up modem to get to the Web? Is a dial up connection fast
enough?
Yes, we designed our products to work well over any kind of connection.
The system is fast and straightforward, and uses a minimum of graphic
images.
How much training will
our employees need?
Very little, since we use a Web-browser interface. If they know how to
browse the Web, they can submit issues with IssueTrak and Citizen
Submit.
Can we make IssueTrak
look like an internal company application, with our company name and
logo appearing on every page?
Yes, we have designed the IssueTrak HTML pages to
allow for a company name and logo.
IssueTrak seems to be
targeted towards Information Technology issues. Can it be used for
other purposes as well?
Most definitely. The software can track issues related to customer
service, projects, human resources and quality control.
Is there a demo version
available?
Yes, we have an online demo available. If you go to our demo page and
fill in your name and e-mail address, we'll send you instructions for
the demo, along with sample User IDs and passwords to use. The
instructions are sent immediately.
We have looked at
IssueTrak, and we need a few additional data fields, as well as
associated lookup tables. Can IssueTrak be customized to our unique
situation?
Yes, we specialize in developing customized applications, and we
designed IssueTrak knowing that many companies will need their own
unique features. These could include additional fields in the main
Issue record or specialized reports.
How much does it cost
to customize IssueTrak?
It depends on how extensive the changes are. Please contact us for an
estimate.
What if our company
grows, can IssueTrak handle the increased load?
Yes, the platform we chose can scale very well, and we have designed
the system to allow us to be flexible about moving applications around
to different servers as the load requires.
What technology is
IssueTrak based on?
The Web server is Microsoft's Internet Information Server, running
Active Server Pages. The data is stored in a dedicated database server
running Microsoft's SQL Server. We have designed IssueTrak products to
execute as fast and simply as possible, so there is minimum network
traffic.
