Technical Support Specialist:

Our Town Center Virginia Beach company is hiring a Technical Support Specialist to promote and maintain our focus on extreme customer satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Technical Support Specialist reports to the Technical Support Manager and is responsible for providing technical support to our customers.

Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

  • Provide technical customer support by either phone, email, or directly through our support tool.
  • End to end resolution of technical issues using remote troubleshooting tools, our tracking software and other tools as needed.
  • Manage, communicate and escalate issues to the appropriate group for resolution.
  • Troubleshoot complex web application problems for both internal and external customers and identify/analyze issue trends.
  • Make recommendations for changes/improvements to the IssueTrak product.
  • Update knowledge base with articles on procedures, technical fixes, or any other critical information.
  • Must be available to work a flexible shift and be available for after hour emergency calls.

Skill Sets

  • Help desk and/or technical customer support experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 2003 Servers, Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft SQL server, Active Directory, Exchange, IIS, IE, Firefox, and general website configuration/troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies and web application hosting.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment.

Software Developer:

Software developers review, analyze, design, program, modify, develop and implement new functionality or make modifications to existing functionality. Developers are also responsible for documenting technical specifications for features to be implemented.

Qualifications:

  • Requires keen analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Will work with a high degree of independence.
  • Knowledge of web programming and database query languages required.
  • Experience with ASP, ASP.NET and SQL Server preferred.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent technical education or experience is expected.
